Born in Johor Bahru and attended primary school at Sek. Keb. Bandar, Batu Pahat before furthering studies for secondary school at Sekolah Menengah Agama Kerajaan Johor, Kluang. Hanani holds a Bachelor of Syariah and Law from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and a Master’s degree in Law from National University of Malaysia.

She was an Administration Executive with FIFPro Asia/Oceania under the guidance of Brendan Schwaab, the Vice President of FIFPro. She was instrumental in the rejuvenation of PFA Malaysia and her expertise in the field of sports contract and disputes are key to her appointment as the Administrative Executive at PFA Malaysia.
