[ENG] EXPLORING COLLABORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES: PFAM’S COURTESY VISIT TO MINISTER OF YOUTH & SPORTS OF MALAYSIA

On 9 May 2023, the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) had the honour of meeting with YB Hannah Yeoh, the Minister of Youth & Sports of Malaysia, at Menara KBS in Putrajaya. The delegation included PFAM President Safee Sali, Deputy President Razman Roslan, and CEO Izham Ismail.

As representatives of Malaysia’s professional footballers, our purpose in this courtesy visit was to establish a diplomatic relationship with the Ministry of Youth & Sports and to discuss the rights and employment environment of professional footballers in Malaysia. We were pleased to have the opportunity to share with YB Hannah Yeoh our concerns and suggestions for improving the situation of professional footballers in the country.

During our meeting, we discussed our shared commitment to the development of sports in Malaysia and the promotion of football as a means to bring people together and foster social development. We also exchanged views on the policies and regulations that may affect the employment and welfare of professional footballers.

We are grateful for YB Hannah Yeoh’s willingness to listen to our concerns and insights into the Ministry’s priorities and future plans for sports development in Malaysia. We look forward to a continued relationship with the Ministry of Youth & Sports of Malaysia and to exploring areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

At PFAM, we are dedicated to advancing the interests of professional footballers and to promoting the development of football in Malaysia. We believe that through collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, we can work together to improve the rights and employment environment of professional footballers and to strengthen the bonds between our organisations and the footballers we represent.

We thank YB Hannah Yeoh for her gracious hospitality and for the opportunity to meet with her. We look forward to future collaborations and initiatives.
